Affiliate disclosure
How OCR Guide marks affiliate links and how, or rather how not, they influence our gear recommendations.

Gear pages on OCR Guide may in future contain affiliate links. This disclosure explains what that means and how we handle it.
How links are marked
Links through which we may earn a commission on a purchase are marked in the text with an asterisk (*). Unmarked links do not lead to any commission.
No extra cost to you
If you buy through a marked link, you pay exactly the same price as without it. Any commission is paid by the relevant shop from its own marketing budget, it is not added to the purchase price.
Editorial independence
Whether a product is mentioned in a guide is decided purely on professional criteria, such as suitability for beginners or ambitious runners, fit for obstacle racing, or availability of well-known models. A possible commission has no influence on which products we feature or how we assess them.
Partner programmes
We are not yet a member of any affiliate programme such as the Amazon Associates programme. Once we join one, we will add a statement here that OCR Guide, as a participant in the programme, may earn advertising fees by linking to qualifying purchases.
